Work set for Weds 29th April

Review your learning with the questionnaire I sent you.
Use the scores to concentrate on writing questions and matching answers to those areas you need to work on.
For those aiming for higher grades you should be aiming at writing and answering questions that attract the most marks. Look back at past exam papers for example of these.

Refer to the email I sent you that has all the links on it.

Exam is on 19th May, about 3 weeks!!

Exam revision

Identify (and add to your popplet
map if needed) the three areas you
need to work on. Spend an hour
researching the material and
evidence it on your map for next
lesson.

Exam questions and their areas/subjects

This is a list of previous exam papers and the areas covered within them, separated into smaller sections. It's intended to assist you in your revision. If you need to develop your skills in a particular area you (eg. Interpreting drawings) you can look up previous exam papers and see the question numbers you can try. It also gives you a good idea of recurring questions you can pretty much guarantee you'll be asked....!

Client feedback for your Can Crusher

Produce a questionnaire that seeks the opinions of your clients about your can crusher design.
Ask approximately 10 people for their responses and propose modifications to your design as a result.

Tuesday 17 March 2015

Risk Assessment

Produce a Risk Assessment for a Lathe (as this is the machine you've used to make much of your g-clamp).

Template you can use is here.

If you make your own up, then please make sure it has all the columns from the template!!

Produce a detailed description of CNC machines to cover;

What CNC stands for.
The different types of CNC machines.

The Advantages of CNC machines;

  • speed
  • reliability
  • continuous manufacture
  • semi-skilled operators
  • skilled programmers and machine setters
  •  ....plus more

Disadvantages of CNC machines;

  • Less suitable for 1 off production
  • Reduced skill level
  • Cost of machines
  •  ....plus more
This may help you!
